Managing Partners
Mr. Darby directed the acquisition of Kiawah Island in 1988 and oversees its development. Under his leadership, Kiawah won the Urban Land Institute's Award for Excellence as one of the world's most successful residential-resort communities. Since then, Kiawah Development Partners has acquired several other properties, including the 400-acre Doonbeg site in 1999.

Co-founder of Kiawah Development Partners, Mr. Long has primary responsibility for the Doonbeg project. He also oversees legal and marketing functions at both Doonbeg and Kiawah Island, including publication of Legends magazine.

Mr. McKinney has managed coastal, golf-oriented real estate sales efforts since 1971. On the team that initiated Kiawah's development, he is among the partners who purchased the island in 1988. He served as advisory general chairman of the 1991 Ryder Cup Matches at Kiawah.

Professional Staff
A native of Dublin, Brian is Doonbeg's head golf professional. Formerly head pro at Adare Manor, he has organised several successful tournaments, including the inaugural Ladies World Cup of Golf. A Class A PGA Professional, he played golf at LaSalle University in the US.

Originally from Templemore, Co Tipperary, Joe has always worked in the hotel industry. Following a very successful career in London he returned home to work in Jurys Hotel and Towers, Dublin before taking up his position as General Manager of the Berkeley Court Hotel. During his time with the Berkeley Court he implemented a major programme which saw the hotel regain its leading Hotels of the World status. He joined Doonbeg in 2002.

For the past five years, Bernie has been guiding the fortunes of Moy House, near Liscannor, one of Ireland's leading country houses. In her new position she will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the Lodge, the suites and, the spa at Doonbeg.

The course superintendent, Jim has been with Doonbeg since the beginning, working with Greg Norman to develop the course. The fourth generation of a family steeped in Irish golf tradition Jim has a pedigree second to none in his specialized area. Before arriving at Doonbeg he worked in St Andrews, Turnberry, and Wentworth.

Peter looks after Membership Sales at Doonbeg. A larger than life character, he is a key member of the Doonbeg team.

Assistant General Manager of Doonbeg Golf Club, Barry O'Connor is from Westmeath. He joined Doonbeg from the Jurys Doyle Group. During his time there he was seconded to work with the OPW to open Farmleigh Estate for the visit of the Chinese Premier. Barry has worked in the hotel industry in Austria, Germany, UK, and New York.
