PRESS RELEASE
The Privileges of Membership in Doonbeg Golf Club Offers Exclusive Appeal Around the World
Doonbeg, County Clare, Ireland - Members of Doonbeg Golf Club are enjoying luxury at its finest and the many benefits of being part of an extraordinary seaside Club. At the new Lodge and on the golf course, Members are treated to impeccable service levels, Club amenities, and accommodations. Members hail from as far away as China, Bermuda, Australia, Canada, and the United States, as well as from Europe.
Membership at Doonbeg Golf Club entitles you to prestigious lifestyle privileges. Doonbeg is a private club, accepting, in the Irish tradition, some visitor play. Membership is limited, and by invitation only, and will ultimately be closed.
Members-only amenities include private areas of the Clubhouse including a Members' dining room and pub, locker rooms, and the living room, real estate purchase options, and an unsurpassed concierge program. Membership can be passed down to children and grandchildren as a family legacy.
Members have access to the superb service via the in-house concierge program, which speeds and simplifies international travel. For example, the concierge program can book rental cars, accommodations, tee times at Doonbeg and at other courses in the region, restaurant reservations, and non-golf activities. Members thus avoid many of the challenges of international travel when they come to visit Doonbeg, even on short notice.
Doonbeg's location in County Clare, Ireland is ideal. It is less than one hour from Shannon airport, which is served from eight cities on the east coast of the US. The course is 15 minutes from the seaside resort town of Kilkee, while Lahinch is about 30 minutes to the north. The surrounding countryside is known for unique, natural attractions such as the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Cliffs of Baltard. Doonbeg will soon be Ireland's finest links golf club, destined for a place in the World's Top 25 courses.
Doonbeg is a family-friendly Club offering a family membership dues option, the Clubhouse spa, various non-golf activities in the local area and an annual Members' week with events for all family members. Members who do not already own a suite or cottage at Doonbeg will be given preference in opportunities to buy and/or reserve a suite or cottage to use as a home base for trips to Ireland.
There are about 400 Members currently at the Doonbeg Golf Club. Members represent a diverse group of people from around the globe. "There is no other golfing experience quite like it in the world," says Joe Russell, general manager of the Doonbeg Golf Club. "And the golf is made even more enticing because of the many privileges of club membership. The camaraderie, joy of sport, and spectacular setting make for an unforgettable experience with family and friends."
