Chef Tom Colicchio to Share
His Talents with Doonbeg Golf Club

Doonbeg, County Clare, Ireland - Maestro of cuisine Tom Colicchio has lended his distinctive skills and style to dining experiences as consulting chef for the Lodge at Doonbeg Golf Club. The Lodge and its eagerly awaited restaurant opened in May 2006.

Colicchio, known for his inventive and bold American cuisine, was recently inducted into the Who's Who of Food and Beverage in America. Over the years, he has received much praise throughout the industry. His accolades include the James Beard Foundation's Best Chef, New York City in 2000; Best Cookbook for Think Like a Chef in 2001; the Outstanding Service Award for Gramercy Tavern in 2001; and Best New Restaurant for Craft in 2001.

Under Colicchio's guidance, the restaurant at Doonbeg Golf Club's new Lodge has raised the bar for luxury dining in Ireland. Menu selections feature fresh local vegetables and speciality seafoods that have been the hallmark of the southwest Irish coast's cuisine for generations.

"I am simply enamored of the area," Colicchio says, "and that makes this an especially exciting endeavor for me personally. Local ingredients offer all kinds of ways to update and experiment with classic taste combinations and presentations. We are planning to pull out all the stops to ensure that this restaurant will assume a place of prominence in the annals of Irish culinary history."
